Hello! I’m Kat. Owner and founder of Filigree Jams, and an enjoyer of cheeses.

My endless pursuit of inventing jam recipes to compliment fine artisan cheeses from around the world can be summed up in a few simple words:

Cheese good, but how make better?

Cheese has such a wide variety of flavors, and oftentimes cheese tests the boundaries of what we traditionally think of as flavors that “go together.” We have cheddars, Goudas, and Brie, but what about Alp Blossom, a tangy semi-firm cheese covered in dried wildflowers? What about Rogue River Blue, a blue cheese wrapped in grape leaves that have been soaked in pear spirits? I think we are just scratching the surface on what is possible for us to pair with cheeses. I find what other cheesemakers have done so inspiring and want to do those cheeses justice by pairing them with something equally as interesting in flavor and made with the same level of care. I also want my jams to inspire and empower people to try flavor combinations that they hadn’t considered before. I love the feeling of discovery when I taste something new, and want to give others that feeling, too.
